About Me.

I’m an enthusiastic and passionate costume professional currently working as a costume trainee/junior maker for film and high-end television in London. I am incredibly proud to have been accepted into the ScreenSkills Film Trainee scheme as a costume trainee 2023-24. I love working within a team to bring a project to life, collaborating with other makers to create high quality work with a keen eye for details.

Over the years I have branched out into working with a huge variety of costumes, often attending online academies to expand my skillsets with a keen interest in millinery, goldwork and embroidery, leatherwork, and most recently men’s tailoring. I have experience from historical patterning to mascot-style creations and have worked in costume at events to represent well-known brands at Live Events.

My journey begun when cosplaying in 2007, I fell in love with the challenge of constructing costumes and adapting clothes from a 2D character into something able to be physically worn. Since then I was inspired especially by costumes in film and would spend hours researching how to replicate what I would see on screen on a budget with the tools available to me.

After many years working backstage for the biggest cosplay competitions in the world (ECG, WCS, EuroCosplay) and being inspired by talking to crafters from across the globe, I decided it was time for me to stand up and make my own impact in the costume community. I returned to study Costume at London College of Fashion and graduated in 2022 with the desire to work in Film and Television to inspire others as the films and shows I watched had done for me.

I enjoy blending historical patterns with a sense of whimsical fantasy, working with different textures and materials to create something not yet seen before, often with embroidery, beading and leatherwork. I’ve recently branched out into 3D Printing and working with foam to create more elaborate, exaggerated and intricate silhouettes and patterns. I try to incorporate all these skills, and more, into my cosplay making which I continue to work on after-hours at home for myself and also the occasional commission.
